Inspired by the high rate of crime and gender-based violence in, she wanted to create something simple, discreet, and easy to use. The device design includes a hidden alert button, a mini camera, and a GPS tracker. Once activated, it can capture a photo of an attacker and send the user’s live location to trusted contacts and emergency services. Although the device is still under development, the prototype has already gained international recognition and won awards, including a bronze medal. It’s not yet available on the market, but it shows how one brilliant idea from one determined person can eventually impact and save the lives of many.
