 I was genuinely surprised because she seemed really cool, and I wasn’t aware of any major issues between them. When I asked why, he said he’d tell me later.


A few weeks after the breakup, he got into a new relationship. Then yesterday, he randomly called me and opened up about everything.

Apparently, a few months into dating his ex, he invested some money in a business. His so-called partners colluded and stole from him.


 The situation quickly spiraled, he couldn’t supply the goods he’d already been paid for, and his customers started threatening to have him arrested. They gave him a one-week ultimatum.


He was running around like a madman, borrowing from family and friends, doing everything possible to either deliver the goods or refund the money.


Every night, he’d come home exhausted and worried, calling his girlfriend to tell her everything he was going through that day. He never asked her for financial help, he knew she didn’t have much, he just needed someone to talk to.


Before the ultimatum expired, he managed to raise the money and settled everything with his customers.


When he finally told his ex that the crisis was over, the first thing she did was ask him for money to sort out her personal stuff. Even though she knew he was deep in debt and his business was still struggling.


That single request killed every ounce of attraction he had left for her. He realized he couldn’t marry someone like that. Two months later, he ended the relationship even though he still loved her.


Then he told me about his new babe.

He had promised to buy her some things, but the profit from his business wasn’t as much as he expected. When he explained the situation to her, fully expecting the kind of reaction he got from his ex, she surprised him.


She told him not to worry about it at all. He could get the stuff whenever he had the money. A few days later, she came to his place, cooked for him, and insisted that the cost of all the food from yesterday till Sunday was on her. She just wanted to ease his burden.


He said he had never experienced that kind of support and understanding before. His voice was emotional on the call.

That random phone call was basically him telling me he had found his wife.
